Since graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1995, Tom has appeared as Dickon in GFO’s acclaimed production of The Secret Garden,understudied Sowerberry and Fagin in Oliver! for CameronMackintosh, the Choreographer in Sunset Boulevard for Really Useful, Mendel the Rabbi’s son in Fiddler on the Roof with Topol, Cascade in The Merry Widow for Essgee, Lea Sonia/Lana in the Australian musical drama Only Heaven Knows at Chapel Loft and Charlie Cameron in Brigadoon. He began his career at nineteen in the Broadway production of The Pirates of Penzance and has since been seen in many major musical productions including HMS Pinafore, My Fair Lady, Anything Goes, Seven Little Australians, The Wizard of Oz and Me and My Girl. He also appeared in Born Yesterday for the STC and for Garry Ginivan Attractions in Noddy Goes to Toyland, Peter Rabbit, Puff the Magic Dragon, Possum Magic and The Magic Faraway Tree. Tom was also a member of the VSO Chorus appearing in Fidelio, Barrie Kosky’s The Marriage of Figaro, Pirates of Penzance and Carmen. Concert appearances include A One Night Stand for the Aids Council, the grand re-opening of The Regent Theatre and Sondheim’s Follies in Concert for the Melbourne International Festival. His recordings include Anything Goes and of course, The Secret Garden. Roles at VCA included Bela/Jean-Paul in Pam Gem’s Camille, Gayev in The Cherry Orchard, Peter Patrone in The Heidi Chronicles and Bertam in All’s Well That Ends Well. Shakespeare studies under the tutelage of June Jago included Richard III, Romeo and Hamlet.
